Hello,

I need servers to host botnet controller. Botnet controller is software that sends tasks to bots. Bots are hosts which send spam emails to millions of addresses. It’s not direct spam but abuses on botnet contoller are received from time to time. What is your policy in case of receiving abuses and what is your policy in case of receiving a lot of abuses? What is policy about spam (not direct from your ips as I mentioned above)? Is it possible to host botnet controller in your datacenter during long-term time?

    Ok, how do we make it better?

    Well, guess what, we can create our own graphic and plop it in the correct folder and Simplelabeler will see it and let us use it. You have do a few little things to make it work, but its very easy.

    STEP ONE – copy and edit existing png graphic

    Details: The directory we need to get at is as follows (default install in Ubuntu): ‘/opt/lightscribeApplications/SimpleLabeler/content/images/borders/’. In this folder you will find a 3 other folders, fullsize, metadata and thumbnails. Ok, go into the folder ‘fullsize’ and open the first image with gimp or what ever proggy you like to use that can work with png files. The first file is fs00001.png. Once open re-save it as fs00011.png. Now alter it… keep in mind the CD fits within the canvas of the image size on screen… so you’ll lose stuff around the outsides and in the middle of the CD. Don’t worry, best way to get a feel for how you are doing is to just hit save and take a look. But before we can do that we need to do just 2 more little things.

    STEP TWO – copy the metadata xml file

    Details: Go into the meta data directory and copy fs00001.xml to fs00011.xml. Don’t bother editing it now.

    STEP THREE – copy and edit the thumbnail

    Details: Now go into the thumnails folder, and do the same, copy the thumb for th00001.png to th00011.png, again, don’t alter it now, we just want to see your handy work. Start up Simplelabeler, choose your text… select the last graphic on the right, yes, its the same as the first thumbnail and is labeled Blank, click it! Yea, you now see your graphic in the preview…

    STEP FOUR – do it again!

    Details: rinse and repeat… once step 2 and 3 have been done, you can repeat step 1 at will until the image is perfect, then you can burn it and use it again and again… or just keep altering that one png every time you want to burn a new label with unique graphics… better than nothing eh?

    I am not sure how to alter the xml file, as when I opened it in nano it was a bunch of garbage… perhaps nano doesn’t do xml, seems odd… anywho, no matter, if you want to create and save several customer graphics just open the thumbnails, and just edit them… make a mini version of the fullsize or just label the thumbnail in your editor like I did with something that describes with that image is… easy cheesy… I got my CD with full face background art… no problem… no I just have to burn about 30 of them!!

    ok, I told you this wasn’t the greatest trick on earth, but it will allow you to turn the lame border graphic feature into a full background feature… also note Simplelabeler makes the graphics lighter than the text, so for the most part if you choose your background wisely your text shows up just fine.

    Also, be sure you are root, or use su or sudo as it likely all the files involved above are owned by root, at least in Ubuntu/Debian…
